Jason Dinesen Profile Photo

Jason Dinesen, EA, is a distinguished tax professional and educator with a passion for demystifying complex tax concepts. Jason prepares tax returns each year, but spends most of his professional time teaching on various tax-related topics.

He's the founder of Dinesen Media Ventures, which provides a diverse range of media content, ranging from continuing education programs for accountants and tax professionals, to podcast production to radio and journalism content. Recognized for his sharp tax interpretations, Jason is renowned for promptly analyzing the latest tax updates and IRS guidance, sharing his insights with the professional community. Over his career, he has educated thousands of accounting, tax and HR professionals on various topics.

Jason currently lives in Portugal (long story; he will tell you about it sometime), but he's an Iowa native, born and raised on a farm near the small town of Harlan, in west-central Iowa. Jason is an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and had season tickets to Hawkeye football when he lived in Iowa. He has had a passion for the Battle of the Little Bighorn (Custer's Last Stand) since he was in the fifth grade, and also has taken an interest in a battle in South Africa, called Isandlwana, which has surprising corollaries to Custer's Last Stand.

Jason and his wife have two kids, two cats and two dogs. He misses using his chainsaw, as there aren't as many opportunities to use a chainsaw in his current life in Portugal.

And for those wondering: Dinesen is pronounced DINE-uh-son.
